OUR TECHNOLOGY

Our Technology

Technology plays a vital role at Inform Dental. We have carefully selected the technology within our practice in order to provide you with a more comfortable and efficient appointment visit.

Digital X-Rays

Digital X-Ray systems typically reduce the radiation exposure by 75% or more compared with traditional x-rays. Digital x-ray images can be enlarged and displayed on a TV screen for precise diagnosis and easier explanation of your treatment requirements.

Laser Dentistry

Lasers have been used in dentistry for many years for a variety of applications – the most common being teeth whitening and the treatment of tooth decay, gum disease and some surgical procedures.

At Inform Dental we use two different types of lasers for treatments.

Low Level Laser Therapy is a form of Laser medicine used in physical therapy to alter cellular function in order to support and speed up the healing process in soft tissues. At Inform Dental, candidates for the use of Laser therapy include patients who suffer from neck pain, headaches, jaw joint pain, ulcers, cold sores, surgical wound sites. Low level laser therapy can also be used in orthodontics to help accelerate tooth movement.

The Picasso Laser: Picasso Diode Laser Dentistry can be used for procedures such as Gingivectomy, treatment of oral lesions, Fibroma removal, laser bleaching, and teeth whitening. This laser is only operated by trained authorised personnel & eye protection is provided for your safety throughout any procedure. Your Inform Dental practitioner will advise you if you may be a candidate for this type of laser treatment.

Waterlase: The award-winning Waterlase system is a safe and gentle alternative to traditional lasers. Using laser energy and water spray, Waterlase can perform procedures such as tongue and lip tie release with ease and minimal patient discomfort.

We invite you to discuss the use of dental lasers at your next appointment at Inform Dental.

Sleep Disorders

Inform Dental can screen you for sleep disordered breathing. We have teamed up with Home Sleep Studies Australia to provide a safe, accurate take home sleep testing machine to use in the comfort of your own home. All you need to do next is drop the machine back to Inform Dental and we, along with qualified Sleep Technologists and Respiratory Physicians, will do the rest.

Oral Cancer Screening

We have purchased the Oral ID for use at our practice. This will be used as part of your annual check up to help with early detection of oral cancers.
  • Risk factors for oral cancer include smoking, alcohol, age & genetics.
  • 50% of oral cancer in the US are from the HPV virus
  • 63%of oral cancers are detected too late (at stage III or IV)
  • 80% of oral cancers are diagnosed after it has spread
  • Late stage diagnosis means only 22% survival at 5 years
  • With early diagnosis patients have a 90% survival rate
  • Oral cancer is on the rise in people under 40 years of age
Oral cancer is on the rise and is one of the top 5 cancers taking people’s lives. Tragically it is affecting the younger demographic due to the increase in human papillomavirus (HPV)

The Oral ID simplifies the detection and can identify a suspicious lesion as early as stage I & permits detection before metastasis.

The Oral ID is capable of detecting invisible lesions, lesions not noticed by normal visual inspection. Early detection means smaller lesion, less trauma.

Oral ID means more screening, early detection, greater survival!
