CROWNS & BRIDGES

Restoring your smile and oral health

A crown is a treatment option recommended when your tooth requires additional strength or protection. A crown covers your tooth completely and is made by a ceramist from high quality porcelain, Zirconium or Porcelain fused to metal.

This treatment option requires at least two visits to Inform Dental to create impression moulds and record taking. We will carefully colour match your crown so that it blends well with your natural teeth thereby creating the seamless integration of the restoration.

The crown is cemented in place and can be used to restore the front, back or multiple teeth creating improved aesthetics and effective function.

Using porcelain, zirconium, or porcelain fused to metal the bridges are bonded in place and are a permanent long-lasting solution. If you’re missing one or more teeth, you may notice a difference in your natural function such as chewing and speaking, and also an effect on your self-confidence.

By replacing missing teeth through literally ‘bridging’ the gap, a dental bridge is one option to help restore your function, improve your health and alleviate the pain that an incorrect bite can cause.

TEETH WHITENING

Make your smile a winning one

It goes without saying, your smile is a personal and expressive feature. It can portray your entire personality and friendliness to all those around you in an instant.

If your smile has lost the lustre it once had or is not as bright as you would like, the team at Inform Dental can rejuvenate your smile and increase your confidence, personally and professionally with a simple, safe and effective Teeth Whitening treatment. We offer both in-chair and home whitening and will discuss what option best suits your needs.

Teeth whitening is the most popular way to reverse the discolouration effects of some of our favourite things like tea, coffee, red wine, chocolate and other highly coloured foods and drinks.

Firstly we will create an impression of your teeth to make a perfectly formed tray, which looks like a fine mouthguard. You will be given the formulated whitening gel and instructions on how to use it, which you must follow exactly for the optimum result.

At Inform Dental we offer a safe and effective take home kit that enables you to brighten your smile in the comfort of your own home at times that best suit your busy lifestyle.

Teeth Whitening is a simple non–invasive treatment to rejuvenate the brightness of your teeth and smile. Modern treatments for teeth whitening provide quick and noticeable results. Teeth whitening can be performed at the practice or at home.

There are two common procedures and you will need to speak to us before commencing any treatment.

Teeth Whitening at home
Our teeth whitening system uses a mild bleaching gel in a custom fitted tray (similar to a mouthguard) that is worn over your teeth each night for two weeks. A small amount of bleaching agent is placed inside the trays, which you wear for the specified time.
This technique allows you to brighten your teeth in your own home at your convenience.

One hour Teeth Whitening
A faster result can be obtained by combining the home whitening with the in–chair method. This will take about 1 hour, where we apply the whitening gel directly to your teeth and activate the gel with a special light.

Together with the home whitening kit, you can maintain the brightness of your smile for longer.

Teeth Whitening can make an amazing difference to your smile and a change can often be seen immediately, giving your confidence an instant boost.

For a newly brightened smile schedule a consultation appointment with the team at Inform Dental.

VENEERS

How one small change can make a world of difference

Dental veneers from Inform Dental are a popular way to achieve a beautiful smile.

With Dental veneers, you have the ability to correct imperfections such as gaps, chips, stains or misshapen teeth allowing you to be more confident about your beautiful smile.

Finely crafted, porcelain veneers are thin, custom-made shells bonded to the front of a tooth. Receiving veneers from Inform Dental will often require just two appointments; the first, to prepare the teeth for the veneers and the second to place them.

During preparation, in most cases a very small amount of tooth enamel is removed so when your veneers are placed your teeth still look completely natural and blend seamlessly with the surrounding teeth. Then a detailed impression mould is made and sent to a skilled dental ceramicist who creates your veneers.

At your second appointment your veneers are assessed for fit and comfort, any required adjustments are made before they are permanently bonded to your teeth.

Although extremely fine, porcelain veneers are quite strong, durable restorations.

With correct care and regular check-up appointments at Inform Dental, your veneers will enable you to enjoy a beautiful smile for many years.

INLAYS & ONLAYS

The perfect restorative solution

Inlays and onlays are similar to a tooth coloured filling although they are made by a specialist ceramist using the latest porcelain and zirconium technologies. This type of restoration is ideal as it is made to fit your tooth precisely and then bonded directly into the cavity of your tooth.

Inlays and onlays are a more conservative restorative solution than a crown, as only a minimal amount of tooth structure needs to be removed. They can even strengthen your overall tooth, therefore protecting it from further breakage.

An inlay is placed ‘in’ the prepared area of a back molar tooth. An onlay is a larger restoration and is placed ‘on’ the surface area of a prepared tooth.

Receiving an inlay or onlay will require at least two appointment visits to Inform Dental. The first to prepare your tooth and create and impression mould for the dental ceramicist. The second appointment will be to place your inlay or onlay.

To ensure the longevity of your restoration, it’s important you maintain a thorough at home oral hygiene routine and schedule regular check-up appointments with the Inform Dental team every six months.

TOOTH COLOURED FILLINGS – COMPOSITE RESIN

Keeping your smile white

Fillings are a restorative treatment option to repair decayed or broken teeth that are of a small to moderate size. In the past, amalgam (silver) material has been used for its strength and durability. Amalgam is not used at Inform Dental, as the use of mercury based restorations is not performed for the health of both patient and staff.

With modern advancements, a tooth coloured resin material is available and in most situations almost impossible to distinguish from natural teeth.

This type of restoration is bonded directly to your tooth and can also be used to repair chipped or misshapen teeth during a single appointment. Composite Resin can also be used for cosmetic reconstruction of front teeth.

Replacing stable amalgam fillings is not necessary unless you particularly want to improve the visual properties of your smile. For many, this is an incentive to investigate this option or a personal preference to remove the mercury alloys.

There may be some situations when amalgam is replaced with adhesive restorations to try and enhance the strength of the tooth.

FULL MOUTH REHABILITATION

Restoring your smile and oral health

Full mouth rehabilitation refers to rebuilding or simultaneously restoring all of the teeth in both the upper and lower jaws.

Full mouth rehabilitation may involve general or restorative procedures including crowns, implants, dentures, bridges and veneers. It may also incorporate specialised dental areas such as periodontal and endodontic treatment.

The need for full mouth rehabilitation may be the result of missing teeth due to decay or trauma, restoring teeth that have been injured or fractured or become severely worn as a result of long-term acid erosion, tooth grinding or previous extractions and bite collapse.

Prior to commencing any treatment your Inform Dental dentist will complete a comprehensive examination and develop a tailored treatment plan.
